A huge python was saved in India’s northern state of Uttar Pradesh after it swallowed a large prey and was unable to move. The footage of the scene was shared by Reuters on YouTube.
The video shows a reptile, surrounded by a crowd of local residents, struggling to move. One can see that its stomach is bulging because it had swallowed a large prey. According to ANI, the snake had swallowed a goat.
After a while, forest officials can be seen trying to rescue the snake by lifting it on to a truck using ropes. However, since the snake was heavy because of the large prey that it swallowed, the rescuers had to move it with the helps of logs. In fact, one can see several people helping to load the snake on to the truck because the snake was heavy.
According to ANI, Divisional Forest Officer Rajiv Kumar talking about the incident said, “Our team reached the spot immediately after getting information that a python was found in Sihari village of the Rampur district. The team rescued it and released it in the nearby forest.”
“It seemed to have consumed a large goat, because of which it was unable to move. Locals were initially scared. But we asked them not to get frightened, as python is a harmless snake and is non-poisonous,” he added.
