BIRD CARRYING FACE MASK IN ITS BEAK

The heartbreaking picture shows a bird holding a face mask in its beak while it comes out of the water.

Wearing a face mask is really important to protect yourself during the pandemic but it is equally, if not more, important to dispose of these masks properly. Otherwise, improper disposing off masks can worsen the problem of tackling the pollution.

Fighting the novel coronavirus requires constant washing of hands which, if we are not careful, can worsen the already scarce availability of water in the world.

In order to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus, people all across the world are wearing masks, washing and sanitising hands at regular intervals and trying to be responsible citizens. However, while fighting the pandemic, most of us forgot about a fight that we were already a part of – pollution. A viral image of a bird carrying a face mask in its beaks tells the same story.

WHAT DOES THE VIRAL IMAGE SHOW?

The picture that we are talking about was tweeted by the Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Susanta Nanda. He shared the picture with the caption, “The mask that masks the human face, Also shows our character as a species when it comes off. ( Please be responsible in disposing them. The world belongs equally to our co inhabitants) (sic).”
